Nic & Keith Secret life

Locals reveal what the superstar couple really get up to in the city they call home

They’re two of the world’s biggest stars but at home in Nashville, you could be forgiven for thinking Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are just a regular couple.

Locals in the US country music capital tell Woman’s Day the superstars and their two daughters are nothing but friendly, and regularly spotted shopping and running errands.

Keith and Nicole, both 50, often visit their local Whole Foods Market, where the crooner stocks up on premade sandwiches.

“Keith and Nicole are two of my favourite customers,” reveals Evonne Cameron, 33, supervisor at the store in Green Hills. “They come here a lot, often on Sunday once a month. They get gelato for the kids and Keith often buys premade wraps. I once asked, ‘Are these for your tour bus?’ He said, ‘No, I eat them all at home.’

“Nicole samples from our ready-made bar. We have a lot of salad items. She’ll fill a plate and nibble while walking around.”

“Keith and Nicole are very loved-up – a lot of handholding and sweet moments. It’s nice to see them still so close after being married for such a long time.”

NO SPECIAL PERKS

Nicole is also a regular at the Whole Body store, browsing for vitamins and skin products.

“In Nashville, we let celebrities live their lives – nobody bothers them,” says assistant department manager Jill Lopez. “Nicole comes to shop while Keith watches the kids. It warms my heart to see what a good dad he is.”

A staffer at Nicole’s gym – spin class is the Aussie star’s favourite – says she doesn’t demand any special treatment.

“It is surprising to see her in person, but Nicole doesn’t put on any airs and graces. She’s just here to work up a sweat and doesn’t get any special perks.”

Nicole and Keith take Sunday, nine, and Faith, seven, to see

their beloved Nashville Predators ice hockey team as often as they can, but also prioritise date nights and time out for themselves.

Woman’s Day has learned the pair, whose 12th wedding anniversary is later this month, love nothing more than having a couple’s massage at luxurious Escape Day Spa and Salon.

“They’re definitely regulars here,” a staffer tells us. “Typically we have people sent to Nicole’s house to do her hair and give her a facial. They also come in for couple’s massages. They have the treatment and then go into a soaking tub to relax.

“We don’t make a big deal out of it – they are very down to earth,” the insider says. “They are two of those beautiful people. You see them at their scrubbiest and they still look better than me!”
