Rock

-

How many times have I rolled in the sea How many times have I looked at a tree How many sunsets have I seen in my time Some of my friends have been made into lime

How long have I been here I’ve lost track of time The waves have crashed on me They’ve left me with lines

Just look at me deeply and wonder just who I’ve seen on my journeys through life’s precious lot God gave me colours,

crystals and quartz How beautiful he made me in his holy court

I’ve seen many things since the beginning of time No one knows what’s just on my mind Earthquakes, famines, volcanoes and floods Dinosaurs, humans, pollution and blood

And now I’m in your life I hope you will see I’m not just a rock But your friend maybe?
