1 LOOK AT THE WINE
Simply just focus your eyes on your wine – the colour, the body, the viscosity. Don’t try to analyse what you see, just look into it.
2 SMELL THE WINE
Close your eyes, put your glass under your nose and take a couple of deep breaths. What does the wine smell like? Memories might come to you. Notice them and let them go.
3 TASTE THE WINE
Focus on the experience of the wine in your mouth – its taste, viscosity and the feel. Notice if the flavour changes after five, 10 or even 20 seconds.
