JONATHAN’S MID-FLIGHT MELTDOWN!
Troubled actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was arrested on the tarmac at LA airport following a midair altercation. The Vikings star allegedly hurled abuse at his wife Mara Lane on board an American Airlines flight from Miami to LA after she asked him not to vape on board.
A flight attendant had also forbidden the Irish actor to use the cigarette substitute, stating it was against airline regulations. Jonathan, who was travelling with Mara and their son Wolf, 18 months, started shouting profanities at his wife and airline crew. The 40-year-old was questioned by police but later released.
Mara wrote on Instagram, “Eight months of sobriety and an unfortunate day of airline travel. We were in South America working holistically through anger issues that result in these kinds of episodes. Thank you for your compassion in this ongoing battle with addiction we are in.”
It’s not the first time Jonathan’s caused concern. He checked into rehab three times between 2005 and 2009, was fined in 2011 for public intoxication and in 2015 apologised for “having a minor relapse” after he was seen drunk in London.
