Up your indoor plants

-

Indoor varieties not only look great, they actually improve air quality. To get them working well, make sure you have the right plant for the right spot. Plants haven’t evolved to live indoors, so you need shade-loving types and well-lit areas for them to succeed. When potting up, use a good quality potting mix with a slow release fertiliser to ensure they get the nutrients they need. Regular watering on the same days of the week will make sure they don’t get too stressed. The trendiest indoor plant has long been the Ficus lyrata or fiddle-leaf fig, while the best for purifying the air is a spider plant. Other easy-care indoor plants include devil’s ivy and peace lily.
