Dolly: ‘I lived in my car!’

She’s one of the top earners in country music now, but it wasn’t always that way. In the early days of her career, before she was famous, Dolly Parton slept in her car to save money. “We’d sleep in the car – that was our room,” she said. “My bedroom was the back seat and [Bill’s] was the front seat,” she said of her singing partner and uncle.
