RUSTY’S BIZARRE INSTAGRAM APPEARANCE
Russell Crowe had many people wondering if he’d flipped his lid after he posted a bizarre Instagram video of himself brushing his bushy beard and hair, and singing a Christian hymn.
Others wondered if the 54-year-old star, who captioned the video “The actor prepares,” was method acting in preparation for his new role in Ned Kelly film The True History Of The Kelly Gang.
If Rusty is taking preparations for his new project to the extreme, La-based psychotherapist Dr Jenn Mann says he’ll need to be careful.
“You can see that he has altered his body, gained weight and does not look healthy,” says Dr Mann. “He has morphed himself into his character physically, which can be very dangerous for actors.
“Method acting is when an actor digs into intense emotions they have felt in the past in order to portray a character and then live in that character’s psyche. This can be emotionally dangerous.”
