Wildlife & wilderness
The Grampians are all about the great outdoors. Hikes to waterfalls and lookouts will leave you astounded, and there are loads of watersports at the lakes. Learn about the area’s Aboriginal history at Brambuk Cultural Centre in Halls Gap, and don’t leave without visiting privately owned sanctuary Halls Gap Zoo. With more than 160 species of exotic and local animals over 20 hectares, the animal encounters are a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Participating in many local and international conservation programs, next on the zoo’s agenda is taking delivery of two endangered white rhinos by the end of the year.
