Embrace Bob!

My heart aches for Bob Irwin. Sadness is etched all over his face ( WD, July 23). Not only has he suffered the loss of his beloved son Steve, he no longer has contact with his grandkids and has been relegated to the sidelines. Robert and Bindi enjoy a wonderful enriching life, thanks to Bob setting up Australia Zoo all those years ago. If only they could extend the love they have for animals to their grandfather, open their hearts and share the memory of their beloved father. You would make your father proud if you extend an olive branch and bring joy to a very sad man who loves you both. He has so much to give. Marilyn Johnston, Boronia, Vic
