Wearing a huge smile, clucky Karl Stefanovic looked like he was revelling in a second chance at fatherhood as he snuggled up to his baby goddaughter with Jasmine Yarbrough just weeks before their rumoured wedding date.
The couple were the picture of happiness as they hosted a birthday party for Karl’s goddaughter Olivia Marshall, whose father Steve is a close friend and works as a reporter on A Current Affair.
The Today star kissed and cuddled little Olivia, holding
her up in the air, much to the baby’s delight as Jasmine looked on lovingly.
Jasmine then shared in the joy, nursing the gorgeous baby girl while a besotted Karl gazed at the pair.
“Big night in with the goddaughter,” Karl posted on Instagram to mark the happy occasion, which he and Jasmine marked by hosting a birthday party for Olivia at their home in the swank Sydney suburb of Mosman. “Happy 1st birthday beautiful girl.”
Fans and friends were quick to speculate that Karl and Jasmine were practising their baby skills in preparation for welcoming one of their own.
“Look out Karl, Jasmine looks clucky! Do you really dare to do the baby thing again? How brave are you?” said one, while another follower teased them with the comment, “Getting in some practice!”
‘Jasmine really, really wants to be a mum’
Jasmine, 32, has made no secret of the fact that she wants to start a family with Karl, who turns 44 this week. Last year he took the extraordinary step of having his vasectomy secretly reversed at an LA hospital.
As the lovebirds continue to build a life together, pregnancy rumours are never-ending, even forcing Karl to publicly deny Jasmine was pregnant earlier this year. That, however, is set to change once the couple finally marry.
“They’ve talked about having children and I know Jasmine really, really wants to be a mum, so we all expect Karl will be a dad again,” shares one Nine source. “I don’t think they’re going to rush into it, but it’s a given that it will happen.”
Last week, Woman’s Day revealed the pair are in the final stages of planning a destination wedding. The nuptials are tipped to be a three-day, celeb-filled extravaganza.
