BROOKE’S FAMILY HEARTACHE
At the age of 11, Brooke tragically lost her mum to suicide, and then her beloved Nan to a stroke just one month later. While it made her teenage years tough, she admits her loss has made her more “appreciative”, because “you have no idea what’s around the corner”. But the 23-year-old youth worker says her mum and nan have never really left her. “I am a massive believer in that they’ve never really left the earth. Bachelor] or walking out on to an oval playing footy,” Brooke tells us. “I feel them supporting and encouraging me close by. I am really spiritual about who I am and who I am most connected to.”
