HARRY & MEGHAN’S ITALIAN GETAWAY

And it’s at George and Amal’s place!

-

This could well have been the most exclusive double date of all time – Prince Harry and his bride Meghan Markle hanging out for the weekend with A-listers George and Amal Clooney.

The young royal newlyweds were invited for a relaxing stay at the Clooneys’ extravagant villa in Lake Como, Italy, where Harry, 33, and George played basketball while Meghan, 37, and Amal lounged by the pool.

“Meghan and Amal are close friends and similar in a lot of ways. They’re both intelligent and passionate people who share a love of fashion, and were both thrust into the spotlight because of their husbands,” our Woman’s Day source reveals. “They were introduced by mutual friends and got to know each other when Meghan moved to the UK. Amal has been someone Meghan can lean on.

“It works perfectly because Harry and George get along so well. Harry has a great sense of humour and George is the ultimate prankster. They always have a laugh together.”

Undoubtedly Amal, 40, and Meghan’s friendship looks set to strengthen further as they bond over the exciting news recently revealed in Woman’s Day that they may both be pregnant.

The idyllic minibreak could be just what they needed to relax and discuss the imminent pitter-patter of tiny feet.

“Harry and Meghan have been so busy ever since they got engaged and this was the perfect way for them to unwind,” says the insider.

“Meghan loved the chance to play with the twins and joked it was great practice for when her little one arrives. Amal gave Meghan a lot of tips about pregnancy and parenting, and they enjoyed having delicious dinners and relaxing in the sunshine. George showed Harry his impressive collection of cars and motorcycles and they raised a few glasses together!”

Actor George, 57, and human rights lawyer, Amal, who have one-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, were guests of honour when Harry and Meghan tied the knot at Windsor Castle on May 19 – and sources say they’ve grown even closer since the wedding.

“Meghan has been under a lot of pressure and this trip was just what she needed. She and Harry loved having the time to enjoy being newlyweds without the whole world watching,” adds the insider.

“As a foursome, they are fast becoming the best of friends. With the way things are going, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they made each other godparents to their future children!”
