Adding to Mary’s woes is Fred’s latest row with his younger brother Prince Joachim, 49 – and this time neither of them is backing down! According to a well-placed palace insider, the brothers, who have long had a strained relationship, are said to be at loggerheads over who should be the rightful owner of the Chateau de Cayx in France. The stunning castle was Queen Margrethe and the late Prince Henrik’s summer residence. And with neither prepared to budge, Margrethe may be forced to intervene. “The Queen is still the owner as long as she lives, but she hopes her sons can work out who is the next owner between them,” a palace source reveals.
