These Perth sisters are giving the reality TV queens a run for their money
It’s easy to see why the Hembrow clan has already been dubbed our country’s wannabe Kardashians. Much like Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, sexy Aussie siblings Tammy, Emilee and Amy work together on clothing lines and fitness apps in between sharing racy snapshots on social media.
Their father, actor Mark Hembrow, has starred in movies and TV shows such as Swimming Upstream and Anzacs. And the trio have two younger sisters, Starlette and Ava, their “Kendall and Kylie”.
Tammy, 24, who is used to constant comparisons to Kim, owns fitness clothing line Saski and is at the forefront of the family’s fame, with 8.6 million Instagram followers.
She first gained popularity for documenting her pregnancies on social media, and has two children, son Wolf, three, and daughter Saskia, two, with her ex-fiance Reece Hawkins. They split in June.
SISTER ACT
Older sister Emilee is building up a fan base by sharing snapshots throughout her pregnancies, too, and has 891,000 followers. The 26-year-old had daughter Aaliyah in 2016 and is expecting her second child.
While Amy, 28, has just 125,000 followers, she’s working with Tammy as the general manager of her activewear line and account manager of her app. Starlette, 18, is building up her social media fame, and youngest sister Ava is just 13, so has it all to look forward to.
Now it looks like the girls are set for even greater fame, after Tammy hit the headlines for partying with the real-life Kardashians in LA earlier this month!
With her kids at home in Australia tucked up in bed asleep, the Instagram star and model also found herself tucked in... facedown on a stretcher in the back of an ambulance!
After celebrating with the Kardashians at Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday party in West Hollywood, Tammy was rushed to hospital. Taking to Youtube, the social media celebrity reassured fans she was OK and gave a teary explanation for the shock turn of events. “I probably, definitely shouldn’t have been drinking because of how jet-lagged and exhausted I was,” she said. “I already wasn’t feeling well.”
MODEL INSPIRATION
The model scored an invite to the birthday party after sparking up a friendship with television’s most famous family. Khloe had been a fan of Tammy’s for “a while” and acknowledged her as an inspiration on Instagram, sharing, “She has motivated me on my fitness journey for longer than she is probably aware of.” Khloe’s agents reached out to the Aussie influencer about a business deal and from there a firm friendship was forged. “I met Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie and Kendall. They’re all super down-to-earth, like, nice girls,” says Tammy.
Although the friendship seems to have soured after Tammy’s recent behaviour – Kim, Kourtney, Kendall and Kris have reportedly unfollowed her on Instagram – there’s no denying Tammy’s recent antics have helped catapult the girls to worldwide notoriety.
The overnight fame Tammy has acquired now may not be exactly how she envisaged making a global name for herself, but it’s not unlike Kim’s rise to becoming a household name. The reality star and mum-of-three was famously the star of a sex tape in 2007. It was from that the family were offered their reality show and Keeping Up With The Kardashians began.
And while this latest incident might be a sign of good things to come for Tammy, for now she has to bear the backlash of her dramatic exit from Kylie’s birthday party. “I’m already like super, super embarrassed about it,” she said.
