Former cricketer Shane Warne has blasted

The Project’s Waleed Aly for being an “arrogant” idiot last week after it was rumoured he’d been handpicked by the AFL to consult on proposed rule changes.

Warnie, 48, vented on Twitter, “I love #AFL football like so many other people – please tell me this is fake news & that this arrogant cretan is in no way involved on any level !!!”

While Waleed, 40, didn’t respond to Shane’s insult directly, he later said he was “obligated” to attend a briefing by the football league.

“I don’t think they were particularly interested sted in any suggestions I might have had. I asked d a lot of questions, but that was more for my benefit rather than theirs,” says the TV host. .
