Serena doesn’t celebrate birthdays

Tennis superstar Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian won’t celebrate their daughter’s first birthday on September 1 due to their religion. “Olympia doesn’t celebrate birthdays. We’re Jehovah’s Witnesses, so we don’t do that,” says Serena, who joined the church in the ’80s. “If you don’t believe in God, it’s going to be tough to live life because pretty much that’s the basis of life.”
