The MAFS lovers finally confirm they’ve called quits on their romance
They’ve been denying rumours of a split for months, but last week Married At First Sight’s Carly Bowyer and Troy Delmege finally confirmed their whirlwind relationship has come to an end.
And while the couple would have us believe the split was only recent, friends have revealed exclusively to Woman’s Day the two separated a while back, but have been masquerading as lovers for publicity purposes.
“Troy moved back to Sydney months ago,” our insider spills. “They’ve been putting on a ‘showmance’ because they believed they would get better publicity opportunities if they were still a couple.”

But despite trying to look ‘in love’, keeping up appearances took its toll on them.
“During the Logies weekend in July they were constantly arguing! Carly even kicked Troy out of their hotel room,” our source reveals.
To add further insult to injury, their publicity plan doesn’t seem to have paid off. Our insider claims pressure was piled on their relationship when Troy, 35, failed to go back to work in IT after appearing on the match-making reality show, believing instead Nine would hire him as a TV host.
“When Carly realised Troy’s dream of becoming a TV star outside of MAFS wasn’t going to come true, she was over being with someone obsessed about extending their 15 minutes of fame,” our source says.
Taking to their respective Instagram accounts to announce their separation, 33-yearold Carly claimed they “fought for each other to the end” before making the sad decision to end their relationship.
“We wanted this more than anything… and have fought for each other to the end so it’s heartbreaking that we’ve had to make the incredibly difficult decision that our lives no longer align and we are unable to make this work,” she wrote.
