Big Bang Theory ends

There are tears and tantrums off set as the comedy’s stars crack it!

After 12 epic seasons, The Big Bang Theory is finally drawing to a close but not without causing a major divide among the cast.

Sources tell Woman’s Day when Jim Parsons, 45, who plays Sheldon Cooper, decided to leave the show, creator Chuck Lorre refused to continue the series with one of the central characters missing.

In a drastic move, he pulled the plug on the entire smash hit sitcom and it’s got the rest of the cast fuming!

“This was very much Jim’s decision and the rest of the cast has no choice but to go along with it,” an insider tells Woman’s Day. “It’s no secret a lot of them are furious Jim’s made a decision that impacts everyone else.”

Mayim Bialik, who plays neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler – a role that won her Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2016 and 2018 – has led the charge of castmates venting.

“Am I happy? Of course not! This has been my job since Melissa Rauch and I joined the cast as regulars in season four,” the 42-year-old shared on her website. “This is hard. I love coming to work and pretending to be Amy. She’s a riot. She’s me, and I am her. Soon she will not be mine to create.”

Mayim’s not the only on the warpath about the show’s demise. In March, Johnny Galecki (who plays Leonard Hofstadter) revealed he didn’t even like to think about the possibility of the show not continuing.

“We spent thousands of days, literally, in the same room together as a unit, as a family. So to not wake up and not have that to go to is going to be very jarring, I’m sure,” he told Us Weekly.

But sources say the behind-the-scenes disputes have been secretly bubbling away for years – ever since onscreen hubby and wife Johnny, 43, and co-star Kaley Cuoco, 32, who were real-life lovers, split up.

“That made things awkward for Jim. It was never the same after that,” says our insider. “The cast stick together when it comes to negotiating their salaries but they’re not as close as they’d have you believe. They don’t socialise.”

Now, emotions are running high and tension is at boiling point. “They know they’ll never get a role like this again, especially Johnny,” adds the insider.

“The hope is they can put their differences aside and enjoy these final weeks. But there’s a lot of bitterness that’s hard to ignore.”
