PETE’S DRUG BATTLE

-

He’s known for his commitment to following a healthy lifestyle and a strict Paleo diet but in a surprise admission, MKR judge Pete Evans has confessed to his struggle with drugs as a young chef. “The Gold Coast culinary scene at the time was full of alcohol and speed as the drugs of choice, but in Melbourne it was very different, it was more of the LSD, ecstasy, cocaine and alcohol-fuelled environment that I stepped into as a young 18-year-old,” the father-of-two, now 45, admits. Reading American self-help guru and life coach Anthony Robbins’ book Unlimited Power at the hairdressers got teen Pete back on the right track. “That took me down a different path, so the partying stopped after reading that book,” the celebrity chef says.
