MEGHAN RUSHES TO CANADA

Woman’s Day (Australia) - - Royal News -

The duchess shares her exciting baby news with her bestie

Over the past few years, she’s risen through the ranks to become one of the world’s most famous women but Prince Harry’s bride Meghan Markle managed to quite literally fly under the radar when she jetted into Canada to visit her best friend.

The 37-year-old flew to Toronto – where she lived while she was in the cast of the hit TV drama Suits – for a mini-break with her bestie Jessica Mulroney late last month. And according to sources the Duchess of Sussex had a clear-cut reason to make the long-haul flight. She has exciting news to share and she wanted to tell her bestie in person – she’s pregnant!

FRIENDS FOREVER

“Meghan has made no secret of how much she wants to start a family, and of course she’d be super-excited to tell Jess,” an insider says. “Jess has been someone she could confide in ever since she secretly started dating Harry. Her life has changed so much in two years, but her friendship with Jess has never wavered.”

Meghan, who Woman’s Day revealed is believed to be expecting a boy, stayed at the house Jess shares with her TV host husband Ben, 42, and the women spent their days relaxing by the pool, cooking – one of Meghan’s favourite hobbies – and playing with Jess’ children.

Jessica’s eight-year-old twins Brian and John were pageboys carrying Meghan’s veil at her wedding to Prince Harry on May 19, and her daughter Ivy, five, served as one of the flower girls.

Meghan misses Jessica dearly now she’s residing in the UK and had a wonderful time catching up with her friend.

SECOND HOME

“Toronto will always hold a special place in Meghan’s heart. It became her second home when she worked on Suits and she’s been longing to visit for the past few months. Things have been non-stop for Meghan, so it was great to have a few days to unwind and go back to her roots,” our insider says.

It will come as no surprise that Meghan also made sure she got lots of parenting advice. “She thinks Jess is an amazing mum and admires the way she balances parenthood with her career,” adds the insider.

“Meghan loved getting some practice in with Brian, John and Ivy. She’s always been a natural with children. Meghan and Harry are going to make great parents!”
