Jarrod, Keira & the friend
Keira became increasingly paranoid about his closeness to a male friend
When Jarrod Woodgate sensationally dumped Keira Maguire by text and moved out of their Melbourne love nest last month, there was one man waiting in the wings to support him – his close friend Chris Kenny.
In fact, it was Chris’ door Jarrod, 31, knocked on when he desperately needed somewhere to stay after he walked out on Keira and their plans to get married and have a baby.
Now, sources are telling Woman’s Day that Jarrod’s friendship with Chris was just one of the many reasons for the breakdown of his romance with his Bachelor In Paradise co-star Keira, 31, who became increasingly insecure about how close he was to Chris.
“Even though Jarrod was besotted with her, there were real trust issues. Keira hated the fact that Jarrod would often stay over at Chris’ house,” reveals a friend of the couple.
FEELING ‘VULNERABLE’
It was Jarrod’s regular sleepovers at Chris’ Melbourne home that really didn’t sit well with Keira, who’s admitted to feeling “vulnerable”, as well as having “emotional outbursts” and suffering from “depression” because she didn’t trust him.
“Keira couldn’t help but be paranoid,” adds our source, who says Jarrod and Chris have been close friends for years and even celebrated Oktoberfest together in Germany.
‘She couldn’t handle it when Jarrod would disappear’
“She couldn’t handle it when Jarrod would disappear and stay at Chris’ house without telling her where he was going or when he would be coming back,” adds our source.
SEXUAL CONQUESTS
Another friend says Keira also felt uncomfortable about the large number of people Jarrod has slept with.
“Jarrod made no secret of the fact he’d had lots of sexual encounters,” tells our source. “When he was in the Bachelor mansion he regularly bragged to the boys that he’d had more than a thousand sexual partners.
“Initially they didn’t think it was true but he was very open about how he enjoyed using different sex toys, aids and harnesses – and even boasted he had a room with contraptions in it.
“It’s not surprising Keira felt she couldn’t compete!”
