Just breathe
As the sun sets just below the
trees, Step back and remember to
breathe. If the weight of the world comes
down on thee, Step back and remember to
breathe. If you have all your wants but are
lacking your needs, Step back and remember to
breathe. When you’re wound up all tight,
and are ready to fight, Just step back and remember to
breathe. ’Cause if you’re trying your best,
just forget all the rest, And remember that you are
lovely.

Time to rhyme
Soft white clouds go drifting by Fluffy contrast against an azure
sky A cooling, light fingered breeze Rustles ever gently through the
trees Birds chirping as they fly overhead Calling to everyone! Get out of bed! The sun slowly rising Above the hills Casting shadows – long golden
tendrils Amongst the trees and mounts
of countryside Where nature, in its glory, doth
abide.

Goodbye guilt
No one else could do to me The things I’ve put me through The torment and the sadness, The drop-dead rage – the
madness They crept into my every pore And beat me black and blue, It’s not my fault – oh yes it is I gave it life and breath It has allowed my soul to cloud And smother happiness, Too many times I fed the beast A promise on its plate Its hunger never seemed to ebb And guilt became my mate! An empty fickle friendship Vows I couldn’t keep Words fell out of my lying
mouth They never missed a beat, I cannot change the things I’ve
done The times I’ve stayed or when
I’ve run Thoughts and deeds I didn’t do I made myself a victim too, The one who suffered most was
me
This I can’t forget I do not want my life to be Filled only with regret, Goodbye guilt, you have to go I terminate your run The power’s mine to set me free I hold the lock, so too the key Vacate now – we’re done! Caryl Peters, Port Macquarie, NSW
