Australia’s darling Jessica Marais has announced she’s retiring from acting to focus on her health. The 33-year-old was due to start filming Nine’s upcoming show Bad Mothers in October, but has now pulled out of the production completely.
A statement released by her management read: “Jessica has decided to step away from acting for the remainder of 2018 to focus on her health and spend time with her family.”
However, her sudden exit may have rattled the show’s producers. “Friends hope there won’t be bigger headaches for the actress if the network takes issue with her leaving the production,” says a source.
The news comes after Jess – who has six-year-old daughter Scout with actor James Stewart – snubbed the Logies to check into rehab facility The Sydney Clinic so she could deal with a “number of urgent health issues”.
