This year’s Breast Cancer Network Australia State of the Nation report found it was common for young women with symptoms to be told, “You’re too young to have breast cancer.” The disease is often harder to diagnose in younger women due to lumpier and denser breast tissue. Kylie Minogue was diagnosed at age 36, after mistakenly being given the all-clear just weeks before. Her advice? “Just because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn’t necessarily mean they are right… If you have any doubt, go back again.”
