Kate Ritchie’s bust-up

The married couple just can’t stop fighting

-

It was a case of another day, another fight for Kate Richie and her warring husband Stuart Webb. The couple, who have been plagued by rumours of a marriage crisis for years, looked strained as they took their daughter Mae for a day out at the local park.

While their adorable four-yearold daughter let loose on the swings, Kate and Stuart, 38, were locked in tense conversation just metres away – with the clearly exasperated radio star throwing her hands up in the air.

Last year, Kate was at pains to insist their marriage was “fine” and she didn’t want to be “bogged down about what other people think is happening in my life”.

But according to those closest to the couple, they have struggled for years and even trialled living apart for a while, with Kate based in Sydney with Mae and Stuart living in their Southern Highlands home.

It’s thought they were doing everything they could to save their eight-year marriage for the sake of their little girl. But despite their best efforts there have been signs that things aren’t back on track.

Earlier this year, Kate surprised friends when she celebrated her 40th birthday with a lavish holiday to Europe with a close female friend, rather than her husband. It came after she spent a large period of time in the UK for the royal wedding in May. A source of tension between the pair has reportedly been former league star Stuart’s career as a chef, which has left Kate as the breadwinner.

Meanwhile, her career has gone from strength to strength, with the former Home And Away star enjoying huge success on her Nova radio show.

And it looks like she is only set to get busier with the actress admitting she plans to return to the small screen. “I would love to [get back into acting], but it’s about the time,” she has said. “Acting is where my heart will always be.”
