Michelle Dockery, who starred as Lady Mary Crawley earned three consecutive Emmy nominations for her role. Sharing a picture on social media earlier this month, she revealed the first glimpse of the film’s set. “Shooting begins today for the #Downtonabbey movie. Excited? Just a little,” she announced to her Instagram followers. Much of the star-studded cast are set to reprise their roles in the highly anticipated production. Dame Maggie Smith, Laura Carmichael, Penelope Wilton, Joanne Froggatt and Elizabeth Mcgovern are among those returning. The cast will be returning to Highclere Castle in the Hampshire, UK, as well as nearby Bampton, where the location is used for many of the outdoor village scenes. 5 The countdown is on!
The film, yet to receive a title, will premiere in Europe on September 13, 2019, and the rest of the world a week later. So just a year before we see the Crawleys again!
