It’s time for fans of Downton Abbey to get excited because the Crawley family are making a return! Having won 15 Emmys, three Golden Globe Awards and 69 Emmy nomination­s, the period drama is the mostnomina­ted non-american TV show in history. So successful were the six seasons that last year it was announced the historical Brit series, created by Julian Fellowes, is going to hit the big screen! 1 Cameras are rolling!

Michelle Dockery, who starred as Lady Mary Crawley earned three consecutiv­e Emmy nomination­s for her role. Sharing a picture on social media earlier this month, she revealed the first glimpse of the film’s set. “Shooting begins today for the #Downtonabb­ey movie. Excited? Just a little,” she announced to her Instagram followers. Much of the star-studded cast are set to reprise their roles in the highly anticipate­d production. Dame Maggie Smith, Laura Carmichael, Penelope Wilton, Joanne Froggatt and Elizabeth Mcgovern are among those returning. Matthew Goode, who plays Henry Talbot, confirmed he will play a part. “I’m just popping in at the end, which is a nice way to do it,” he said. 3 Shock return

The cast will be returning to Highclere Castle in the Hampshire, UK, as well as nearby Bampton, where the location is used for many of the outdoor village scenes. 5 The countdown is on!

The film, yet to receive a title, will premiere in Europe on September 13, 2019, and the rest of the world a week later. So just a year before we see the Crawleys again!
