The singer’s dad spills the beans on her undercover personal life

Family means everything to Aussie sweetheart Delta Goodrem, who prides herself on her close-knit relationship with her loved ones, especially her Sydney-based mum Lea.

But Woman’s Day can reveal the stunning singer has a “secret” family and has been making regular trips to Melbourne to visit the family her fans may know little about.

As our exclusive picture shows, Delta’s beloved dad Denis – who split from Lea in the years after their daughter’s cruel cancer battle in the mid-2000s – has found love again with marriage celebrant Louise Mitchell.

Louise is close with Delta, 33, but little was known about their relationship until now.

Denis tells Woman’s Day he and Louise see Delta regularly, and that she even paid them a visit last week. “I don’t talk to the papers though,” he admitted, speaking to us while the couple took their pup for a walk through the Melbourne suburb of Balwyn.

Denis and Louise married in Sydney in 2008, with Delta and her brother Trent – an Adelaidebased footy player – by their side.

Until 2014, businessman Denis proudly tweeted about his “child of the universe” daughter, but tells us: “I don’t tweet any more. If anyone tweets me now I just ignore it and move on”.

Sources say while Delta considers her mum her best friend, she’s grown extremely close to Louise over the years.

“Delta can see that her dad is head over heels in love with Louise and nothing makes her happier than to see her old man doing so well,” says an insider.

“She was sad when he chose to leave Sydney and live in Melbourne, because at the time Louise’s kids were still in school there. Delta schedules trips to see them whenever she can.”

The songstress sees her dad and stepmum as often as she can.

Ddenisi now lives in Melbourne with his wife of 10 years, Louise.
