Stephen Curry ‘I’M NOT INTERESTED IN HOLLYWOOD’

-

As one of Australia’s most popular actors since his breakout role as Dale Kerrigan in the much-loved film The Castle, Stephen Curry continues to put smiles on fans faces.

“Over the years people have bought me beers – that’s great!” quips the star.

“But what’s happened more than 100 times in the last 20 years is people bring their friend over who they think looks like me – and they’re often not the most handsome blokes!” he chuckles. “We get a photo and have a laugh!”

With his popularity spanning young and old, fans will be happy to know we’re not about to lose another great Aussie talent to Hollywood.

“I should probably be more proactive about it, but I love working here. There’s plenty of work for me and hopefully that continues!” says Stephen. “I’m 42, I’m too old to sleep on people’s couches. I have to occasionally sleep on my own couch but that’s my own fault!”

His latest project, a drama series revolving around secret Aussie defence facility Pine Gap, is unlike anything he’s done before.

‘I’m too old to sleep on people’s couches!’

“It’s a place that’s shrouded in secrecy, so we weren’t able to go there,” he explained ahead of preparing for his role as mission director Jacob Kitto.

“[But] we did have someone who worked at Pine Gap advise us and help us create a close replica of the real deal!” PINE GAP Sunday, 8.30pm, ABC
