Robert Redford ‘YOU DON’T WANT TO OVERSTAY YOUR TIME’
For more th than six i decades Robert Redford has been a Hollywood superstar. From his iconic roles in Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid, All The President’s Men and Out Of Africa, Robert has dazzled not only with his talents but his good looks,too. But now the still-handsome 82-yearold is stepping away from his stellar career.
“You don’t want to overstay your time,” he says.
The Oscar winner, who also founded the Sundance Film Festival, is bowing out with his final role in comedy crime caper The Old Man And The Gun, which also stars Sissy ssy Spacek, Casey Affleck eck and Elisabeth Moss. ss.
The film, based on the real-life story of elderly criminal Forrest Tucker, who escaped from prison and then won over the public with his daring heists and cheek, has received d rave reviews.
“I “It’s ’ just j about b getting i away with something,” says Robert about Forrest’s exploits. “And putting a smile on the whole thing. The guy’s having such a good time. Let’s enjoy ourselves. He wants the people he’s robbing to enjoy it, too.”
If the role is to be Robert’s last, it’s fitting that he’s going out in one that’s already getting awards buzz.
“The idea of this probably being the last thing I’m acting in just felt right,” he adds. “I could have fun and enjoy myself, too.”
