Mince pies
Super buttery and crumbly, Aldi Specially Selected Shortcrust Pastry Mince Pies ($4.49/6 pack) are our top pick! With a rich, jammy filling, they’re as close as you can get to homemade without any of the effort. We also love Coles Gingerbread & Apple Pies ($3.50/6 pack), which are good for when you’re all sultana-ed out! For the best flavour, always heat your pies in the oven.
Pudding
Our winner is the Coles Finest Luxury Gingerbread & Butterscotch Sponge Pudding ($12). A glittery gold finish and moreish butterscotch sauce makes this the easiest and most impressive dessert ever. We think it should be sold all year round! For a traditional fruit pud done perfectly, we chose Aldi Specially Selected Premium Vintage Christmas Pudding ($14.99). Bonus points for its cute calico bag.
Gingerbread
In first place and tasting like a honey jumble is the Coles Honey Elf. It’s perfect for a little pre-christmas snack. You can get creative by decorating it yourself, and at just $1 – with 20c going to charity – it’s great value. Our runner-up is Woolworths Giant Gingerbread Iced Cookie ($4). A fun dessert centrepiece with a strong cinnamon flavour and crunchy texture, it’ll feed the whole family.
