As Heather Locklear has her involuntary psychiatric hold extended from three to 14 days, disturbing new details about her wellbeing are coming to light.

A close friend of the actress reveals her condition is “worse than anyone knows”.

Explaining that her dramatic fall from grace is “more than just drugs and alcohol”, the friend adds there are growing fears the 57-year-old former Melrose Place star has a severe mental illness and is suicidal.

In a shocking incident on November 18, police were called to do a wellbeing check on the actress at her LA home, and sent her to hospital after she became belligerent.

Insiders say she’d locked herself in her bedroom, drunk on tequila, with her pooch Mister.

Friends left to get help, but on their return they found the former wife of musician Richie Sambora in her front yard dressed in a G-string and tank top, with Mister running loose.

“They finally got her into bed but then she started screaming, ‘Help me!’” reports a witness. “She threatens suicide and everyone’s hugely concerned for her.”

The friend adds that Heather is a hoarder, and rarely showers because “she thinks there’s glue under her skin and is constantly rubbing it raw with bleach”.

“Some people think she has multiple personalities. She is a badass then talks like a baby, then says how smart and brilliant she is, then believes she’s a sex goddess,” spills our source.

Heather has had several run-ins with police this year. She was arrested in February on domestic violence charges and in June after police checked on her during a disturbance call.
