Nicole Enough about Tom!

Keith cracks it as Nicole gushes about her ex... again

Despite finally opening up and spilling the beans on her ex-husband Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman has now declared she’ll never discuss him again.

And friends insist the sudden and bizarre about-face comes after a tense showdown with her current husband Keith Urban, who’s banned the words “Tom Cruise” from their household – and all further interviews.

This comes just several weeks after she gave an interview to an Australian magazine in which she emotionally referred to Tom, 56, with whom she shares two adopted children and divorced in 2001, as her “protector”.

“I don’t know why the culture is set up like that and we aren’t just protected anyway, but it’s interesting that the power of another man gives you respect,” she said.

“Because I was married at 23 years old, I wasn’t going to parties or I wasn’t going out a lot. I was pretty much at home,” Nicole said on another occasion. “I had my first child at 25 and I was married, I was in a family. So my sense of being in the world was working, or I was working, or I was at home.” Later, the 51-year-old actress added, “Being married to Tom Cruise… is something I’m always reluctant to talk about, because I’m married now to the man who is my great love.” Despite her tender words towards Keith, 51 – father to her daughters Sunday, 10, and Faith, seven – sources say he “begged” Nicole to stop living in the past.

“Keith’s had enough of hearing Tom’s name and asked her point blank to stop,” spills an insider. “He thought Nicole had long shut the door on that part of her life, so to find out that it still weighs so heavily on her mind was a bitter pill for him to swallow.”

Now, Nicole says she’s no longer addressing her first marriage out of “respect” to the country crooner.

“I have a husband now,” she said last week. “I feel out of respect for him I don’t want to talk about [Tom]. It’s been 20 years. I’ve come to a point where I can say, ‘I’m not going to keep discussing my ex.’”
