New girlfriend
Twelve l months th on f from his messy split from wife Rose, life is looking sunny again for Steve Jacobs in the romance department. The Weekend Today weatherman has been spotted out on several occasions with Melbourne-based florist and property stylist Emma Goody, fuelling speculation that love is in the air!
PLAYFUL PAIR
As Woman’s Day’s exclusive photos show, the pair looked particularly loved-up as they enjoyed a coffee in Bondi on January 2, before shopping for homewares in Bellevue Hill.
“They seemed very happy and in love,” an onlooker tells us. “They had a playful energy about them, and both couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces.”
Emma, 42, enjoyed a career in musical theatre before launching her own textiles and soft furnishings range when she was 27. She has since collaborated with renowned interior brands, and has even appeared p on tl television i i giving ii styling t li advice. di
While it is unclear how long the pair have officially been an item for, it appears they have known each other for quite some time, with Steve liking Emma’s Instagram photos as far back as March 2017.
The same month, it was revealed Steve, 52, and Rose, 39, had parted ways after nearly seven years together.
LAST-DITCH ATTEMPT
The former couple – who first met on the set of Today in 2007 and married in an intimate ceremony in Bali three years later – sold their five-bedroom home in Coogee for $4.6 million in April last year, further solidifying their split.
It came after the weatherman left his full-time role on Today in 2016 for semi-retirement in Vanuatu, commuting back to Sydney for work on the weekend. Steve and Rose relocated to the island with their two daughters, Isabella, seven, and Francesca, five, in what friends reportedly said was a “last-ditch attempt” to save their marriage.
Now it seems Steve and Rose have both moved on. Rose is happily dating Matt Shir, while Steve’s clearly smitten with Emma. .
“They seemed like a lovely couple – and things must be going well if they’re buying homewares together,” an onlooker tells Woman’s Day. “You could tell they are really happy together.”
