She’s like a fine wine and keeps getting better with age. It’s been more than 45 years since she steamed up our screens playing sexy Bond girl Solitaire opposite Roger Moore in Live And Let Die, but actress Jane Seymour looks better than ever as she prepares to celebrate her 68th birthday on February 15.

It goes without saying the mother-of-four and grandmum-of-three is sporting an incredible body and the star is the first to admit she has a healthy mindset to match.

“There’s an enormous freedom in having lived as long as I have. Like my father used to say, I’m comfortable in my own skin,” she revealed last year when she became the oldest woman ever to be photographed for Playboy magazine. “I feel sexier now than I ever did when I was younger.”

Unsurprisingly, Jane – who became a household name playing Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman in the ’90s– knows the best medicine to keep her figure in tiptop shape is regular workouts. She’s enjoyed Pilates for more than 30 years as well as being a keen golfer.

She also enjoys yoga, but is careful to avoid “hardcore” gym sessions after having spinal surgery to fix a herniated disc more than a decade ago.

“I have a hot shower before I exercise. I get on the treadmill for 10 minutes to half an hour, and I also do light weights very carefully,” she reveals, adding that she does isometric exercises to give her “really strong stomach muscles.”

Jane’s secret to eternal youth is also nutrition, admitting she takes an ultra-healthy approach when it comes to her diet. Instead of snacking on junk food, she tucks into fresh fruit and vegetables grown in her own garden.

However, she’s not afraid to indulge in a glass of wine or two – her mother was actually a sommelier so she knows what makes a good tipple.

But it’s her decision to shun plastic surgery procedures – after having small breast implants and trying Botox once, which she didn’t like – that has allowed Jane to age naturally.

Now she embraces her wrinkles and all the bits in between.

“The best way of reversing [age] is not accelerating it. Stop it in its tracks and take care of it where it’s at,” says Jane.

“I’d rather be the best I can be at the age I’m at.”
