As the cameras rolled for her new movie Hustlers, a usually all-smiles Jennifer Lopez was seen in floods of tears on set in New York on April 1.
And it turns out that it wasn’t just good acting! Sources spill to Woman’s Day that the 49-year-old’s public sobfest is a result of recent real-life dramas the songstress is struggling to come to terms with.
Woman’s Day has previously reported the Bronx-born star’s recent engagement to former baseball great Alex Rodriguez was grossly overshadowed by cheating rumours that have rocked the couple to the core.
“This should be the happiest time of Jennifer’s life. She’s in the best shape ever, working on a new movie and about to get married,” says our insider. “But as much as she’s trying to brush off all the drama with Alex,
it’s becoming harder to put on a brave face.”
Just days after their engagement, A-rod’s former teammate Jose Canseco accused the baseball star of having an affair with his ex-wife, Jessica. Following that, Playboy model Zoe Gregory claimed Alex, 43, had sent her explicit text messages just weeks before he proposed to J.LO.
While the happy couple has been putting on a united front to dodge the scandal, tensions are growing behind the scenes.
“Jennifer’s fretful about what else will come out of the woodwork,” adds our insider.
“She loves Alex and loves the fact that they’re a major power couple. She trusts him totally but she can only take so much and the way things are going, people are doubting whether the big day will ever come.”
