1 Three words: Tweed Valley Whey

If you love cheese (and who doesn’t!) just outside of Burringbar is the newly opened Tweed Valley Whey Farmhouse Cheeses. Open Fridays 2pm-6pm and weekends 11am-3pm it’s worth finding the time to pop by. The farm and dairy opened to the public late September 2018 and the farmhouse offers cheese tastings, plus a cafe and fresh produce. Make sure you try the fetta (complete with herbs fresh from their garden). It was right at home served on some crunchy sourdough with avocado. Or try the chilli fetta if you like some added kick! tweedvalleycheeses.com.au

2 Cafe culture is thriving

On the main street of Murwillumbah, Keith Cafe serves Sunday’s Coffee Co from the Sunshine Coast. Hit up their housemade pies, sausage rolls and Portuguese tarts. I was lucky to stumble on their smores slice – layers of biscuit, chocolate, jam and homemade marshmallow, then torched to order. Check them out on Ins tag ram@ keith_ murwillumbah
