GET YOUR BEST SLEEP YET!
These simple night-time additions – or subtractions! – will have you sleeping like a baby
THE PERFECT PILLOW
Pillow quality is hugely responsible for how well you sleep, so choose something hypoallergenic that contours to your head and neck to notice a difference. After all, your head is about the weight of a bowling ball, so it needs the support!
“Getting fitted for a pillow will help your body being supported correctly from head to toe,” says Snooze’s senior mattress category manager Troy Grzeschka.
The Bedgear range comes in a variety of profiles and you can get fitted for the one that best suits you. Check out the range at snooze. com.au or instore.
WORK WITH THE ELEMENT S
“One of the first things you should do is minimise the light and extreme temperatures in your bedroom,” says Genesiscare respiratory and sleep medicine specialist, Dr Justin Hundloe. “Extreme heat and cold can disrupt your core body temperature, which can prevent you from achieving a deep enough sleep to let your body rest.” He advises ensuring your bedroom is well ventilated, and appropriate sheets and blankets for the season are used.
JUST RIGHT JAMMIES
It’s best to sleep in pyjamas made from bamboo or organic cotton material (or a blend of both!) as they’re practically weightless, comfortable and breathable. Even if it’s cooling down, it’s important to still opt for something lightweight to allow your body to breathe and avoid becoming sweaty and uncomfortable, therefore disrupting your sleep.
