Troubled pop princess Britney Spears has been leaning on her “protector” boyfriend Sam Asghari, 25, for support amid a muchpublicised wrangle with her father Jamie Spears.
But as the saga over a legal conservatorship – which grants Jamie, 66, decision-making power over Britney’s financial and personal affairs – continues, sources say the Toxic singer, 37, is increasingly confused about who she can trust.
“Britney’s been paranoid about her boyfriends having links to her dad ever since she dated Charlie Ebersol,” a source tells Woman’s Day.
Entrepreneur Charlie, 36, was famously set up with Britney in 2014 after passing a “dad test” with Jamie – and now insiders say Britney is terrified Sam is having secret meetings with her father behind her back.
“Recently people on Britney’s team have triggered suspicions
that her father knows details which could only have come from someone close to her,” the source continues.
“It’s leading her to question whether Sam is acting as a spy for her dad.
“Britney’s petrified that her father’s paying Sam to spy on her and friends fear she’s on course to have another fullblown breakdown.”
