Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban haven’t been seen together for nearly a month – and friends say the distance between them is a cause for concern.
Nicole has attended several events to promote her new movie The Goldfinch, while Keith has been on tour, but sources say even where there have been times he could have accompanied his wife of 13 years to the star-studded events, he’s chosen not to, preferring instead to hang out with his bandmates.

“Tensions between Nicole and Keith are at an all-time high right now,” a source tells Woman’s Day. “Nicole is livid with Keith for failing to attend any of the recent events she’s had – including the GQ Awards and the Toronto Film Festival – despite her insisting he could have made the effort in between shows that didn’t clash.
“She’s been bombarding him day and night with calls and texts – flying off the handle when he doesn’t respond immediately and blowing up his assistant’s phone when she can’t get hold of him, which has been making Keith feel increasingly suffocated.”
The 52-year-old actress has admitted to feeling traumatised by playing certain roles, and has been going through a tough time after filming The Goldfinch, which is a story about guilt and grief.
“A lot of times when you’re acting scenes that are very traumatic, your body doesn’t know the difference,” she says. “You take it on and you become that, and so much of it is then trying to shed that.”
The stress Nicole is under is clearly affecting the Oscar winner.
“She fled the Female Filmmaker Dinner in Toronto last weekend in tears after breaking down to fellow stars about how she felt she was going crazy,” says the insider.
MATTER OF TRUST
Friends close to the couple report that Keith, 51, is being understanding about Nicole’s insecurities – up to a point. “Keith’s repeatedly urged her to stop trying to monitor him – he’s begging her to stop getting herself worked up into a frenzy when they’re apart as it makes him feel as if she doesn’t trust him. “Keith’s just trying to focus on the tour and on not letting his personal life affect his performances, but he’s warned Nicole that if she doesn’t pull back and stop with her behaviour, she’s going to push him away.”
