Woman’s Day (Australia)

Look What's inside...

- Fiona Connolly, Editor-in-chief

There’s a beautiful, elderly man named Erol from Queensland, who every Monday morning for more than 50 years would take a short walk from his home to the newsagent to pick up a copy of Woman’s Day for his wife. It was her weekly treat – and his gift to the woman he loved. Sadly, a few years ago Erol’s wife passed away, but his way of remaining close to her was to continue his Monday ritual and call us to tell us which stories she would have loved. As I write my last letter to you after more than 10 years and upwards of 500 issues, I’d like to thank Erol and all the readers who have made my time as Editor-inChief the most rewarding years of my life. In that time, I have heard from literally thousands of readers about how Woman’s Day has entertained and inspired them, but the truth is, it is the readers who have brought such joy to me. Now it’s time to pass on the baton to Erin Holohan, one of the smartest women I know, who will continue to bring you more of what you love in your magazine every week. It’s been my great pleasure to work with Erin, and I thank her and everyone who has supported me over the years. I’m lucky to have had something so fabulous in my life and look forward to being a loyal reader myself for many years to come.
