Give this favourite a twist by making savoury mince pie bites! For the filling, brown a mixture of beef and lamb mince in batches over high heat. Fry finely chopped onion, then add a spice mix (try ground coriander, cumin, garlic, ginger, turmeric and curry powder). Return mince to the pan, season and add a little fruit chutney. Cook over low heat. Cool slightly, spoon into pastry cases and top each pie with a pastry star. Add an egg wash and bake at 200°C until golden.
