Charles’ fury MEGHAN & HARRY BANISHED!

The future king has had enough of the couple stepping out of line

-

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex trademarked their royal charity’s name at the Intellectual Property Office over the holidays, it only warranted a few short paragraphs in Britain’s national newspapers.

But it was just enough for Prince Charles to take note of the move – and it was the final straw from his wayward son Prince Harry and wife Meghan that pushed him over the edge.

NO CONSULTATION

As well as lodging “Sussex Royal” with the IPO to cover fundraisers and sports events – naturally, given their charity enterprise and Harry’s ongoing commitments with the Invictus Games – the couple bizarrely also trademarked books, magazines, apparel, including pyjamas, and counselling services.

“They never consulted with Prince Charles on any of this, despite knowing damn well he’s taking over leading the family as the Queen gets on in her years,” says a source. “It’s just the latest act of defiance from Harry and Meghan and a mark of huge disrespect.”

The insider adds Charles, 71, was incensed when he learned their trademark would cover so many goods and services.

“He’s suspicious of their motives and what kind of branding they’re planning. Everyone knows Meghan thinks very highly of herself, and Charles wouldn’t put it past her to have something in mind that might eclipse the Mountbatten-windsor name,” says the source.

“Charles has been saying the woman thinks she’s a Kardashian, the way she’s plotting to use the family for fame. He’s berating himself for not stopping her from getting out of hand earlier. The signs were all there the second she and Harry started talks about a TV show with Oprah.”

Courtiers tell Woman’s Day that sliding their trademark before the IPO on December 20 comes straight out of the couple’s apparent rewriting the royal rulebook – just like when they blindsided the entire family by hitting Britain’s biggest newspapers with lawsuits late last year.

“They’re getting sneakier, and Charles has had enough,” says our source. “He’s determined to spend 2020 weeding out members of the monarchy that aren’t in line, even if it’s his own son.”

Thanks to increasing concern over Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, going rogue, Charles spent a tense Christmas discussing a game plan with his 93-year-old mother.

“Now it makes sense to them as to why Harry and Meghan wanted to move to Frogmore Cottage, when there was a perfectly lovely apartment with their name on it at Kensington Palace where they could have worked closely with Prince William and Catherine. Not to mention that they ran off to Canada to spend Christmas

alone,” says a source. “Charles feels this renegade behaviour is a recipe for disaster for the family, just like it was when Princess Diana thought she was above it all and went rogue. There’s every chance Charles will decide to cut them off – which they have been informed of in no uncertain terms.”

Another insider says Charles’ heavy-handedness has thrown the House of Sussex into disarray, as they attempted to have a low-key vacation on Vancouver Island in Canada, where they rented a $20 million waterfront mansion.

“It was the holiday from hell for Harry and Meghan,” says a source. “Harry was devastated his father is considering cutting him off and suggested that maybe they should pump the brakes on their grand scheming. But Meghan was defiant – she knows they have the power to be even bigger than the royal family themselves and is anxious to continue their own crusade – which, of course, is exactly Charles’ problem in the first place.”
