CAMERON’S EGG DONOR REVEALED… IT’S NICOLE!
The actress received the greatest gift of all from her sister-in-law
When Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden got married and began trying for a baby, doctors warned the then42-year-old her chances were slim.
Undeterred, the pair tried to conceive naturally – but they were also organising plan B in the form of a surrogate, while searching for the perfect egg donor.
Now, at the age of 47, Cam and Benji, 40, have joyfully announced the arrival of their longed-for daughter named Raddix, who they welcomed into their family over the new year.
The family insisted they wouldn’t be sharing pics of the infant and haven’t commented on how she arrived, but given that Cameron was seen at several pre-christmas parties looking decidedly unpregnant, those in the know suggest the little one arrived via surrogate, with an egg thanks to the kind donation of their sister-in-law, Joel Madden’s wife Nicole Richie.
“After months of failed fertility treatments, Cam decided to hire a surrogate and has implied they used an egg donor, too,” says a friend. “Cameron’s always said if she had to use an egg donor, she’d rather it be from someone close to her, so having a sister-inlaw and best friend step in would have been the greatest gift. Especially since Nicole has a family of her own and has watched Cam’s desperation to become a mother.”
According to the insider, Nicole, 38, hasn’t left Cameron’s side since the day she bought Raddix home to her palatial LA mansion.
“It hasn’t gone unnoticed by family and friends what a striking resemblance Raddix bears to her aunt and how much she looks like Harlow [Nicole and Joel’s daughter] when she was a baby.”
