AMANDA SAYS Steven Spielberg’s dog Elmer tells me he and his dad would just sit quietly for hours and hours while Steven took notes. One day, Elmer said he and Steven were sitting on the beach when Steven started madly writing as ideas came thick and fast – next minute, Jaws was created! Elmer comes through with such good manners and is well-behaved. Elmer loved other members of the Spielberg household and knows that he was very much loved by them all. Like his dad, Elmer liked his own space and Steven knew this, so he gave Elmer a part of the home that was his area only. Elmer was, and always will be, his dad’s favourite.
