Julia Roberts is holed up in her desert home away from Danny – and now she wants her kids by her side

Callum and Jackson Mcpartlane, 15, might be new to The Voice stage but they’re certainly no strangers to performing – their godfather is Australian country music icon Adam Brand! “From a young age we were surrounded by musicians and artists and really had no idea how famous they all were, they would sing and make us all laugh. It would be like a big family gathering,” Callum says of their early years. “We were always thrown on the stage at Adam’s shows... he gave us our first guitar, and the musicians that surround him are some of the greatest song writers in the country,” says Jackson. Now the twins, who perform under the name Bo’ness, are hoping the show will open them up to a world of possibilities and they hope to one day make an album with their godfather!
As their notoriously difficult marriage struggles on, Woman’s Day can reveal Julia Roberts is suspected to be isolating alone at her mountain retreat in Taos, New Mexico – and recently ordered at least one of the three kids she shares with husband Danny Moder to join her.
A source exclusively tells Woman’s Day, “Julia’s been holed up at Taos for a couple of weeks now, though she hasn’t told very many people.
“From what I hear, Danny stayed behind at their place in Malibu with the kids. They’ve been struggling along in their marriage for a while, but when LA locked down, they found themselves stuck in the house 24/7 together. Danny couldn’t even go surfing to let off steam as the beaches were closed.
“I’d hate to have been a fly on the wall in that home.”
But judging by the videos Julia, 52, is shooting in support of her charity, the pair weren’t in the same multimillion-dollar mansion for long.

In the background of her videos, her home appears to feature the distinct mudbrick walls, timber ceilings and interior designs she favours for her New Mexico bolthole. The timing of her posts also seem to indicate she was on Mountain Daylight Time rather than Pacific Standard Time.
“She’s also been shooting the videos herself, selfie-style, selfie style, which suggests Danny isn’t or wasn’t there – why wouldn’t you make the most of having a cameraman hubby otherwise?” says the insider.
Making matters even more intriguing, Woman’s Day has learned that on May 19, Julia and Danny’s son Finn, 15, made the 14-hour drive from Malibu to Taos.
It isn’t known whether his siblings Hazel, also 15, and Henry, 12, were in the car, or their 51-year-old dad.
“It’s all a bit mysterious because the family usually travels together,” says our source.
“Perhaps Julia went first because she wanted some space
to figure things out about how she feels about Danny. It’s interesting that she made Finn, who’s also a keen surfer, come to Taos the same week the beaches in LA reopened for physical exercise. That raised a lot of eyebrows.”
In recent years, countless rumours have abounded in Hollywood that the couple’s marriage is hanging by a thread – with the media blaming everything from Julia’s bad temper, Danny’s ongoing guilt over leaving his first wife Vera Steimberg to be with Julia and the fact that, until recently, she owned a separate house across the street from her Malibu base that was rumoured to be Danny’s escape house.
THE TAO OF TAOS
In March, Julia also made some mysterious real estate moves as the coronavirus peaked in the US, quietly selling their Malibu home and buying a new place in San Francisco.
For Julia, the Taos mansion is a place of deep spirituality and reflection – and, poignantly, it was also where she married Danny on July 4, 2002, in a chapel on their property.
“There’s something about the hills out there, and she loves it,” says a friend. “Her and Danny usually go to the house together to celebrate their wedding anniversary in July. It will be interesting to see if that happens happpp this year.” y

The Danish press confirms that after completing military training in Paris, Joachim, 50, is “keeping his future options open”, and there are real fears among insiders within Amalienborg Palace that he will “cut his ties” like Harry did, with speculation he will “distance himself from royal life”.
“The education he has completed might very well lead to a job outside of Denmark’s borders,” reports a local paper.
An insider tells Woman’s Day, “Harry and Joachim are very similar men. They both grew up being the younger brothers of future kings, with a bit of a ‘spare to the heir’ complex.
“It’s also worth noting that while Fred and William both married women who were prepared to do their duty to their countries as faultless future queens, Joachim and Harry weren’t quite looking for the same thing, and have courted a lot more controversy in their choosing of wives.
“Harry chose an American divorcee, and many predict it won’t last,” says a source. “Joachim’s first wife [Alexandra, Countess of Fredriksborg] came from Hong Kong, and it was over between them within 10 years. Fred remembers all too well how disappointed his parents were in Joachim, and is looking closely at how William and Catherine dealt with
Harry’s departure in case it happens in his own family.”
IN FRED’S SHADOW
Joachim – who has dropped to sixth in line to throne behind Fred, 51, and 48-year-old Mary’s four children – is now married to Princess Marie, 44.
“Word is Joachim and Marie have been growing unsettled with royal life for years, especially since it feels like they are going nowhere with it,” says a source. “They’re very much in Fred and Mary’s shadow, which is a source of frustration for them. Ever since Mary came along, Fred has been able to do no wrong in the eyes of the public, and Joachim feels bad Marie has been so overshadowed by her sister-in-law.”
Royal insiders confirm tensions have been swelling between Joachim and Fred in recent years.
“The fact that Joachim and Marie spent the summer in France rather than with the family at their country castle is very telling,” says a source. “It won’t surprise anyone if the palace announces his official exit any day now.”
