The musician, actor and presenter has certainly achieved a lot, but with his reflective journey on SBS’ Who Do You Think You Are? and a new role on Home And Away, the eldest Daddo brother, 55, is ready for another new chapter.

Was there a family story you wanted to uncover from

Who Do You Think You Are?

Our family history has always been a mystery to me. I knew both sets of my grandparents very well and they had smatterings of information of past generations, but nothing that I could hold onto. A question that has long been asked of me, “How many Daddos are there?” has always been a curiosity for me. Turns out there’s been a few!

What W was the most s shocking thing you f found out?

I did discover that I come from convict s stock, but it was the f fashion that my threetimes great-grandparents met and under the conditions that they arrived in Sydney and what they had to endure that was incredible.

Did your outlook on life and your family change once you finished?

I can see that we’re most definitely affected by generations. It gave me some peace and understanding.

What did your wife Alison Brahe think of the outcomes?

She was fascinated, but it must be said, I have not shared all the info. I want her and the kids to experience what I did as I did... it’s a great story.

What have you been up to recently?

Working on Home And Away, and I’ve just completed a new album of fresh material. I’m also loving my time on radio working nights on Smooth FM, producing a podcast with my wife – Separate Bathrooms And Other Handy Marriage Tips – working with our

charity Rizeup Australia, and building my Men’s Health initiative Men’s Team.

It’s just been announced that you’ll be appearing as a main cast member on Home And Away. Can you tell us a bit about your role?

I play a singer/songwriter who comes to Summer Bay to have a relationship with my son. I get to play my own original tunes on the show. I am loving my life in Summer Bay – it’s great to be back acting on Aussie TV.
