Nicole’s with her favourite men – and Keith’s feeling insecure
No man likes to think of his wife getting up close and personal with another bloke, so spare a thought for Keith Urban, who’s dealing with three worrisome – and handsome – interlopers.
Last week he was grappling with an ongoing flirtfest between Nicole Kidman, 53, and Hugh Grant, 60, as they promoted their new TV show The Undoing, during which the chemistry between them could not be clearer.
Nicole herself admits she sometimes has to admonish Hugh from going too far with her on set, saying, “I trust you, but that’s also part of working together I think, when you really click, then you... share things and open up. You’re incredibly honest and I’m always like, ‘Hugh, shush, you can’t say that!’” ’”
FLIRTFEST
A source tells Woman’s Day this wasn’t exactly music to Keith’s ears.
“There’s also a video of f Hugh asking Nic on a date e to The Ivy, which bothers Keith,” says a source. “He e understands they need to o say interesting things to promote their show, but anyone would admit it feels fairly disrespectful of her husband.”
If that wasn’t hard enough for Keith, who has just turned 53, he’s also contending with the thought that his wife will soon be jetting to a remote filming location in Ireland to star opposite Alexander Skarsgard in the Viking epic The Norseman.
“Don’t forget, Nicole and Alex played a married couple already in Big Little Lies and she kissed him passionately on the mouth at an awards ceremony right in front of Keith,” says a source.
“If that’s how touchy she is with Alex in the most public of
arenas, what are they like in
a cosy little trailer when they’re running lines? If I was Keith, that’s what would be going through my head.”
Last but not least, he’s had to hear about how good Nicole’s ex-fiance Lenny Kravitz looks, thanks to his recent appearance on the cover of US Men’s Health.
“Seeing that on every newsstand has to make Keith feel a bit insecure,” says a source. “Especially since Nicole and Lenny are still close, given she’s friends with his daughter Zoe.”
The deluge of other men in Nicole’s life has come at a tricky time for Keith, who is often on the other side of the world writing music in Nashville while she’s filming in Byron Bay or in New York.
Speaking to Marie Claire, Nic admitted she’s often found an overwhelmed Keith hiding in cupboards.
“At times, he just needs to escape with his guitar,” says Nicole. “Sometimes I’ll find him in his closet playing guitar. That’s when I know we need to give him space.”
Adds a source, “With all the carry-on with Hugh, and staring down the barrel of her going away with Alex, I’m sure Keith will be spending a little more time in his wardrobe these days!”
