MY WILD AFFAIR WITH JFK JR!

As her bombshell tell-all book hits the shelves, the Basic Instinct star opens up about their secret fling

-

It’s been a long and crazy ride for Sharon Stone and now, after a stellar decadeslong career followed by a seven-year fight for her life after a stroke, she shares much of the gritty details in a tell-all book.

The stunning actress shot to superstardom in the early ’90s, thanks to memorable turns in Basic Instinct and Casino, went through a bitter custody battle with ex-husband Phil Bronstein over their son Roan, now 20, and in 2001, suffered a stroke and brain haemorrhage that left her with a one-per cent chance of survival and memory loss.

‘She’d whisper in his ear or brush his face with her fingers’

“I don’t think my life is exceptional,” she recently insisted. “Except that I ended up a movie star.”

But readers of the 63-year-old actress’ revealing new book would beg to differ. In The Beauty Of Living Twice, Sharon reveals never-before-heard details of her storied life, but there’s one blockbuster tale she’s left out – the sexy summer fling she reportedly shared with John F Kennedy Jr in 1995.

“Sharon considers it one of the most romantic encounters she’s ever had,” says an insider. “He had a thing for blondes and Sharon was one of the biggest stars at the time. Their chemistry was off the charts.”

SPARKS FLY

It’s said the duo had the hots for each other before ever coming face to face. Thanks to her femme fatale role in Basic Instinct, Sharon was considered one of the hottest women in Hollywood.

And John, heir to a political dynasty, was a much-snapped man-about-town. He was also dating future wife Carolyn Bessette, an icy blonde fashionista, at the time.

In August 1995, John and the actress were both on holidays at Martha’s Vineyard. They reportedly met at a dinner party and “talked all night long”. The following day, they went boating, then shared a romantic meal at the Oyster Bay restaurant.

“They only had eyes for each other,” a source declares. “Sharon sat close to John and was hanging on his every word. She would sometimes whisper in his ear or brush his face with her fingers.”

The affair was apparently short-lived but intense, and was a well-kept secret – at first. “Even though she only spent a few days with John, it was one of the most intimate relationships she’s ever had,” says the insider. “The world didn’t know about it.”

Still, rumours followed the pair, even as John returned to Carolyn and Sharon married Phil Bronstein in 1998.

THE AFTERMATH

In fact, John and Sharon acted like strangers during another encounter on the island. According to journalist Art Buchwald, “Every time he talked to her, she turned her back to me. She whispered, ‘If he offers to show me the lighthouse, think of a good excuse why I can’t go.’”

But back home in NY, the damage was already done. “Carolyn heard the rumours and all hell broke loose,” says the insider. It’s said to have given Carolyn the ammunition she needed to pressure John into marrying her. “They had a huge blowout fight in Central Park,” recalls the insider. “It made headlines.”

The volatile couple finally wed in September 1996, but tragically died in a plane crash just three years later.

Until his death, Sharon remained tight-lipped about their tryst. “John and Sharon would bump into each other now and then at galas, but their hook-up was never spoken about,” says the insider. “It had to be locked away, though neither one of them ever forgot about it.”
