MOVING IN ALREADY!

Simon Baker & his new girlfriend The actor is wasting no time in his whirlwind romance with Laura…

Just weeks after announcing his shock divorce from his wife of 22 years Rebecca Rigg, insiders tell Woman’s Day Simon Baker is making giant leaps with his new girlfriend Laura May Gibbs – by making space for her at his home!

“Laura has all but moved in,” says the source. “He’s absolutely smitten – head over heels in love.”

The Mentalist star, 51, is said to be relocating permanently to Byron Bay in north-east NSW, where Laura, who owns a clothing design studio, calls home. The news comes just days after the couple were spotted outside Simon’s Bronte home in Sydney, loading suitcases and moving boxes into his car as he packed up his city residence.

‘He’ll do what it takes to make it work… he’s like a lovesick teen’

And while Laura, 36, is just nine years older than his eldest daughter Stella, 27, that hasn’t stopped the Aussie actor from thinking about starting a second family with her, according to insiders.

“He knows she desperately wants her own family,” the spy divulges. “And he’ll do what it takes to make it work with her – he’s like a giddy lovesick teenager!” projects,” the insider says. “And with so many feature movies and TV series now being shot in Byron Bay, he won’t have to go far for work!”

According to the source, it was Simon’s hard work ethic that eventually drove a wedge in his relationship with Rebecca, 53, with his demanding filming schedules forcing him and his family to uproot their lives to the US.

And while Rebecca attempted to make their “US life mirror their Australian lives”, sadly their relationship didn’t survive.

“On the surface, they always appeared to have a dream marriage, but after they returned to live in Australia, they continued to drift further and further apart,” says the source.

The pair, who met on ’90s Aussie hit soap E Street when they were in their early 20s, married in 1998 and had three children, Stella and sons Claude, 22, and Harry, 19.

“We remain close friends and our three children will always be the most important focus of our lives,” they said in a joint statement.
