HEWITT FAMILY TORN APART

Sibling rivalry – and fame chasing – could be coming between Bec and her eldest child

-

Bec Hewitt has said she’s loving raising her daughter Mia, but like any parent of a teenager, it seems even the star has good days and bad. As a group of friends watched on, the Dancing With The Stars finalist and her 15-year-old looked to be locked in a tense discussion in Sydney recently – and sources claim there’s trouble brewing in the Hewitt household.

“At the moment, poor Mia’s feeling very much left out and she’s starting to rebel,” says a source of Bec, 37, and husband Lleyton’s eldest child. According to insiders, the former tennis champ, 40, is “laser-focused” on 12-year-old son Cruz as his junior tennis career advances to new heights.

“He’s always been Lleyton’s little shadow, but this summer has been next level with all his training commitments,” the source tells Woman’s Day of Cruz, who won the Australian boys under-12 junior tennis clay court title on April 11. “So Lleyton’s left the girls in their mum’s charge.”

And while Mia’s keen to break into showbiz like her actress mum, Bec has been somewhat distracted by 10-year-old Ava – who she has dubbed her “mini-me” – and her aspirations

instead. The tween already has agents for talent and modelling, and her profile is on the rise after she performed a solo dance on Dancing With The Stars: All Stars recently.

NOSE OUT OF JOINT

“Ava is obsessed with dancing and is proving to have a lot of natural ability. She totally stole the show when she did an adorable cameo while Bec was competing, and since then offers have come flooding in for brands and gigs for Ava,” a source tells Woman’s Day. “Bec couldn’t be more proud of her, but she quickly realised the downside when it became clear Mia’s nose was out of joint.”

And it’s easy to see why. Only a few months ago, the high school student was the one who announced she wanted to be an actress and an international model, having already worn designer labels and attended Fashion Week in Paris.

“She probably assumed that her mum would be by her side for that, but at the moment she doesn’t really have the time,” says the insider.

While Bec would never want her eldest daughter to feel left out and loves all her children dearly, friends say balancing all three of them and their career aspirations is like a full-time job!

And of course,

Mia is a teenager now, so there are bound to be some tricky moments between mother and daughter.

“Mia’s at an age where kids stop being kids and aren’t afraid to tell their parents what they’re really thinking,” say the insider.

The source fears the troubles have only just begun for the famous family. “Bec and Lleyton have an interesting few years ahead, juggling three kids with big talent and big dreams!”
